NOV 22, 2017 LISTEN

GN Bank has refused to extend their sponsorship deal for the Division one League.

The financial firm signed a three-year contract with the Ghana Football Association, a deal which expired at the end of the 2016/17 season.

Despite efforts by the Ghana Football Association to seek renewal of contract, the company remains reluctant on signing another agreement with the Nations football governing body,

GN Bank has been the headline sponsor for the National Division one League in the last three years.

The situation leaves the FA with no option than to search for a new sponsor for the League.

It also compounds the burden on Kwesi Nyantakyi and his entourage who have also been working hard to secure a sponsor for the Ghana Premier League.

Information gathered by Ghanasportsonline.com indicates all 48 teams in Division one have been ordered by the Division one League board to pay a sum of GHC30,000 each to aid in the organization of the League next season.

A new challenge hence falls on the Clubs who have been struggling with funding.

A tentative date will be set for the commencement of the 2017/18 Division one League during the FA Congress in January next year.
