The Technical Director of the Ghana Football Association, Francis Oti Akenteng has disclosed that some of the U-17 players will make it up to the Nation U-20 next year [Black Satellites].

According to the respected football administrator, the players will not be neglected despite failing to go past the quarterfinals of the ongoing U-17 World Cup in India.

He, however, insisted that the core of the team will progress to the U-20 next year.

“We have seen the qualities the boys possess, we must keep them and groom them together for the U-20 team,”Akenteng told footballmadeinghana.com

“The Under 17 is youth development and we are not expecting a win at all times but if the win comes you take because it motivates the players but we are looking for a developmental policy.”

“We did the same thing when we promoted the U20 players who played and won the 2009 Under 20 tournament in Egypt. They played in Angola 2010 AFCON and placed second.

The qualifiers for the next Under 20 AFCON will start in May next year.
