Nima Divisional Police station boss, Superintendent General Paul Bampoe has confirmed that Hearts of Oak have officially lodged a case at his office against their Protocol Officer, Joshua Acquah for his role in match betting and manipulation of games.

Protocol Officer of the club, Joshua Acquah is believed to be manipulating matches in the name of the club.

After the management of the club lodged an official complain to the police, Joshua Acquah has quit from his position as the protocol officer of the club.

Mr Bampoe disclosed that his outfit is on the case doing investigations as they seek to get to the tail end of the matter.

“I can say it with all authority that yes, it is true that Accra Hearts of Oak have lodged a case to us and we are investigating the issue,” Bampoe stated in a Press briefing.

“I cannot say anything much about it because the investigation is still in progress. All that I can say is that Accra Hearts of Oak have lodged a complaint on their official Joshua Acquah so at the right time we shall come out with the details for the public to know.” He added.

It is however believed that Joshua Acquah bets on the following matches and won, Hearts 2-1 Olympics, Wa All Stars 2-1 Hearts, Hearts 3-1 Tema Youth, Elmina Sharks 0-2 Hearts, Kotoko 1-1 Hearts and Hearts 3-3 Aduana Stars.
