Former Black Stars Captain Optimistic Of Black Starlets Victory Against Niger

Former Black Stars captain, John Mensah is optimistic the Black Starlets will defeat Niger in their round of 16 match in the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup.

After their cricket scoreline against India in their final group game, Paa Kwesi Fabin and his boys will be looking forward to another victory over the Nigeriens after beating them to reach the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations final and they have the backing of Mensah.

However, the former Sunderland defender believes the Black Starlets have what it takes to record a victory but entreat them to eschew complacency.

"They shouldn't be complacent at all, going into their next game against Niger, they should play their hearts out. They shouldn't think that because they won 4-0 against India it will be easy, it will be difficult but I believe in them, I know they can do it," he told Asempa FM.

"The players should make sure they stay together, listen to the coach and try as much as they can to avoid mistakes and fight for the nation," he advised.
