Former Liberty Professionals forward, Latif Attah Blessings has disclosed that he wept on his first day he arrived at Sporting Kansas City.

The skilful attacker who emerged as the top scorer in the 2015/16 and the most valuable player joined the MLS.

Latif, who was strongly linked to Kumasi Asante Kotoko after that explosive performance in the 2015/16 season but eventually joined Kansas City says he never expected to achieve his dream of turning a professional footballer after years of hardship living in the village.

"The first day I arrived in the US I wept. I wept after every training session because I couldn't imagine myself playing in such an environment. I never expected it but today look at what God has done for me. I'm so grateful for how far has brought me." Blessing joyously stated during a Facebook chat.

"When I step onto the pitch today, my teammates call me 'maestro', so if God has blessed you, let the world know.

"I will urge my fellow players back in Ghana not to give up because you wouldn't know what God has in store for you, just work hard and you'll not be let down by him."

He has plundered three goals in 15 games to help Sporting Kansas City secure a playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Latif was on the scoresheet in the US Open Cup final win over New York Red Bulls last month.
