Black Starlets captain Eric Ayiah has expressed his delight at opening his account in the ongoing U-17 FIFA World Cup in India on Thursday.
The Charity FC poacher form in the ongoing juvenile competition has been a worry for Ghanaian football aficionados after failing to hit his stride in the opening two games.
But the 16-year-old delivered two goals in the side's 4-0 thumping of India at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium to help Ghana advance to the round of 16 stage of the competition.
"The first and the second matches were tough, and I know we'll meet such challenges in the world cup but I know I needed to prove my clout," Ayiah said at the post-match interview.
"I had chances to score in those two game but I didn't utilize them, so my coach taught me how to be composed in front of goal and I heeded to his advise and it helped me perform greatly today."
