Middlesbrough aren't giving up on talks with Juventus over midfielder Stephen Appiah.
In the last 24 hours, Juve have reportedly dropped their asking price for the Ghana captain to £3 million.
The Evening Gazette says Boro initially wanted to take Appiah on loan, though discussions have taken place over the possibility of the Ghanaian captain making a permanent move to Teesside.
Boro need to complete an agreement with Juventus before they can approach the player, who is currently on holiday.
