Reduce GPL Gate Fees – Oduro Sarfo Tells GFA

Respected football administrator, Nana Oduro Sarfo has called on the local football ruling bodies to reduce the gate fees.

The TP Mazembe representative in the country believes the reduction in the gate fees will attract more fans into the stadium as it happened in the just-ended WAFU tournament.

“Looking at what happened in the WAFU competition where the stadium was always full to capacity then we have to look at our gate fee charges.” Sarfo indicated

“I think in some way, the money we take from the gate is high though the money we are getting from the gate cannot take care of the clubs.”

“In some venues, is too high as some charge GHC5, 10, 20 and 30. If we can slash 50 percent off, it will be great. We did it in Cape Coast during the WAFU tournament and it worked for us the stands were always full so we should try it and see it.” he added.

The 2017 WAFU Tournament hosted in Cape Coast and Elmina had gate fees as low as GHC2 and it enticed lots of people to the stadium.
