GPL Is The Best – Yaw Preko

Former head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Yaw Preko believes the Ghana Premier League is the best and the players need to rush to go out.

After Black Stars “B” humiliated their bitter rivals, Nigeria by 4:1 in the finals of the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) finals on Sunday at the Cape Coast Stadium, many football enthusiasts believes there abundance of talent in the local league.

The Black Stars “B” were eliminated out of the 2018 CHAN by Burkina Faso at the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium but the Ufenyi Uba coach believes despite the team failing to qualify for the CHAN, the GPL is the best.

“The Nigerian league is difficult but I am at semi final stage with Ufenyi Uba.” He told Asempa FM.

“Personally I was surprised with the performance of the Nigerians because the players did not rest after the league. I was elated to see 3 of my current players play against 5 players from my former club.

“Atinga was a player who only needed confidence when I was in charge at Hearts of Oak but am happy to see him perform.

“I think we have the quality in the Ghana Premier League but keeping the players has been the problem.

“Our players need not to rush out; Ghana Premier League is the best and can be better.

I congratulate coach Maxwell Konadu for winning the WAFU but failing to qualify for the CHAN is not good for the country.” He added.
