Football News Dont Try Contesting For GFA Presidency Seat In 2019 – Agama Warns Nyantakyi
SEP 22, 2017 LISTEN

Owner and bankroller of Bechem United, Kingsley Owusu Achiaw has called Kwesi Nyantakyi not contest for the Ghana Football Association presidency seat in 2019.

Nyantakyi in an interview with Graphic Sports disclosed his intention not to contest for the 2019 presidency but reports in media indicates that, the respected football administrator says he wants to contest for the seat again in 2019.

However, Agama believes Nyantakyi must concentrate on his WAFU, CAF and FIFA positions and not consider running again for the Ghana Football Association top post.

“Kwesi Nyantakyi should not consider running again for the Ghana Football Association presidency when his current term expires in 2019. I think he should concentrate on his roles as WAFU Zone B president, CAF 1st Vice President and FIFA Council Member. He is clearly overwhelmed so he should leave the GFA job,” he told Accra-based Happy FM.

He further suggested that the position should be given to a new face that will bring fresh ideas to the table.

“A new face should be made to succeed Kwesi Nyantakyi. The association needs fresh ideas and someone who is not wholly part of the current system. I’ve heard George Afriyie’s name pop up but I want to know the sort of advice he offers to Nyantakyi in his position as Vice President.” He added.

Kudjoe Fianoo, Kurt Okraku, George Afriyie, Nana Yaw Amponsah, Osei Kweku Palmer among other football administrators are all eyeing for the GFA presidency seat.
