Neymar has taken to apologising to his PSG team-mates for the dramatic and controversial start to his time in the French capital following his £198 million move from Barcelona over the summer.

According to a big report in French newspaper L’Equipe, the Brazilian has said sorry to all the players at the club, including Cavani, after two separate set-piece rows with him – and apparently a third in the dressing room following the 2-0 win over Lyon.

L’Equipe reports that Neymar issued a grovelling apology:

“After the altercation that took place on Sunday between Neymar and Edinson Cavani, in the wake of the match against Lyon, the Brazilian apologised to the PSG players.

“Neymar wished to apologise, on Wednesday, to all his team-mates, after their training session.

“Thiago Silva served as an interpreter to his Brazilian compatriot, who regretted his attitude in the locker room.”

Not only this, but the newspaper also reported that right-back Dani Alves, who was partially involved in the penalty row during the Lyon game, took the pair out for a re-conciliatory dinner.

“[Alves] invited his partners to dinner last night at the Victoria Paris, a trendy 16th century restaurant with a breathtaking view of the Arc de Triomphe.

“Edinson Cavani and Neymar found themselves in a calm atmosphere after their altercation on Sunday night against Lyon following of the penalty drama.”
