Dwarfs pip Vipers in special football match

Cape Coast, May 30, GNA - Cape Coast Mysterious Dwarfs on Sunday beat their local soccer rivals, Venomous Vipers 1-0 to lift the 'Lawyer Barton-Oduro' Cup in a special friendly match at the Robert Mensah Sports stadium.

Osabarima Kwesi Atta II, Omanhene of Oguaa Traditional Area presented the Cup to the victorious side, Dwarfs The Cup was donated by Mr Oduro to be competed for annually by the two clubs.

It was Vipers who started the game on a fast note and forced Dwarfs to play in their "18" before the winners gradually warmed themselves and took control of affairs to score the only goal of the match in the 38th minute through their midfielder, Sam Ayitey.

The match which was fast and keenly contested saw Ayitey collecting a pass from the right wing and out pacing two defenders of Vipers before delivering a long range shot which zoomed into the far corner of the net.

Despite the efforts of Vipers who were virtually on the 'war path' in the second half in their attempt to cancel the goal all their frantic efforts failed to yield any result until the end of the full time.
