Ghanaian forward Patrick Twumasi scored a brace for FC Astana in their 4-2 victory against Aktobe in the Kazakh top flight league at the Astana Arena.

Aktobe, who are occupying the bottom of the league standings shocked the table toppers with an early lead after Igor Zenkovich slotted home from a close range in the 18th minute.

But Astana came out strongly and quickly restored parity courtesy Ghanaian forward Patrick Twumasi in the 19th minute before an own from Srdan Grahovic restored Aktobe's advantage just before the half time whistle.

Congolese striker Junior Kabananga leveled the score line for high flying capital side in the 47th minute following great through ball by Grahovic, who atoned for the own goal he scored in the first stanza.

Twumasi got his second of the day in the 56th minute to take the game beyond the home side.

Kazakh midfielder Serikzhan Muzhikov sealed the win for Astana in the 86th minute with a thumping header.

Twumasi has scored 5 goals from 13 games for Astana in the league campaign.

Astana maintain top spot with 39 points from 17 games and have a game more than second placed side Almaty who have 37 points
