The Optima Sports and Marketing International has concluded plans to dialogue with key players of the teams taking part in the 3rd Unity Cup football competition holding in London later in the month.

Managing Director of OSMI, Rotimi Pedro, said the body was poised to boost the competition by wooing the players to participate.

Pedro said the event was deliberately scheduled for late May when the European league must have ended.

He said, “The fact is that stars make competition tick and we are going to try our best to make the top players of participating teams attend the meet. People have been speculating on those who will or will not attend but we will convince them to join us.

“Jamaica and Ghana have confirmed that they will present their first team players in London. We are particular about having Nigerian key players attend the competition. Most of them are based in London and we are making frantic efforts to talk to them.”

The OSMI boss stressed that the target of the outfit was to make the competition bigger and better every year.

He expressed delight on the level of support received so far from various European clubs, individuals and football organizations.

“When people appreciate what you are doing, you 'll want to work harder not to disappoint them. That is the situation we found ourselves now. Teams like Chelsea, Middlesbrough and Spurs have identified with us and we also received letters from notable football individuals and organizations,” he added.

Nigeria, Ghana, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago will compete for honours in the four-nation competition, holding in London between May 30 and June 3.
