Goli (UW), May 15, GNA - Sustainable Integrated Development Services Centre (SIDSEC), a Wa-based non-governmental organisation (NGO) in partnership with Canada Feed The Children (CFTC) on Thursday, presented educational items valued at 60 million cedis to the Goli Primary and Junior Secondary Schools.

The items included 75 chairs for students and teachers, 75 tables and 300 books on Mathematics, English and Science. Presenting the items, Mr. Boye Bande, Executive Secretary of SIDSEC said they would continue to support communities that initiated and maintained projects.

He said they would support the schools to increase enrolment and sustain school projects and commended the Goli community for instituting penalties against people who either misused the items or did not contribute to development projects. The Executive Secretary appealed to Parent-Teacher Associations, School Management Committees and teachers to step up their activities for the school to become one of the best in the country. Madam Gale Thomas, Canada Feed The Children Director of Programme, expressed her satisfaction with SIDSEC projects at Goli and appealed to the parents to take advantage of the facilities to enrol their children to become self-reliant in future.

"It is a privilege to have an organisation like SIDSEC to support and so you need to take advantage to learn hard to achieve greater heights," she advised the school children. She gave the assurance that the two organisations would continue to work in partnership to develop the areas. 15 May 05
