Vintage performance by Liberty Professionals on Sunday saw the scientific soccer lads stretching rejuvenated Hearts of Oak to a 1-1 drawn game at the Accra Sports Stadium in matchday 16 of the 2017 Ghana Premier League [GPL].

Former TP Mazembe leftback, Richard Kissi Boateng making his debut since his return from the Congolese giant was pivotal in the heart of midfield for Liberty Professionals as his presence did not only invade the Hearts of Oak midfield triumvirate [Thomas Abbey, Winful Cobbinah, and Patrick Razak] but it also diverted the shape of their movement on the pitch.

Liberty Professionals took the lead in the 35th minute through Benjamin Eshun’s near post tap in.

Kissi Boateng picked the ball in the heart of midfield, slalomed his way through the right side of Hearts defence before releasing a crafty in swinger into the path of Eshun in the six yard box to slot in the equalizer.

The Phobians [Hearts of Oak] responded quickly as Vincent Atinga pulled parity for Hearts from the spot in the 45th minute.

Patrick Razak was adjudged to have been brought down by Emmanuel Anning in the box after ghosting his way through Samuel Sarfo and Simon Zibo but a close look at the incident revealed that the Liberty Professionals goalkeeper [Anning] was innocent.

Hearts of Oak’s new found penalty expert [Vincent Atinga] stepped forward and converted the kick excellently to bring back life into the Phobians.

Both sides returned from the break with the aim of picking the three maximum points, but could not find the back of the net with Patrick Razak and Benjamin Arthur being the worst culprits.

At the Tema Community 3 Park, posted a great goal to hand the Porcupine Warriors [Asante Kotoko] first Premier League win in two months.

Tema Youth who have now drop to the relegation doldrums should blame their profligacy in front of the post for this painful lose to Kotoko.

Relegation threatened AshantiGold SC traveled up north to play 1-1 with defending champions, Wa All Stars.

The Chief Executive Officer [CEO] of the soccer miners – Mr. Kudjo Fianoo has sworn that AshantiGold will not go o relegation as it’s being speculated.
