The Nestlé MILO® Mum and Me special fitness programme for selected mothers and children attracted a lot of fans as other mothers and their children joined whist others cheered or watched with joy.

With music provided b a Kolomashie group, the special Mother’s Day health and Fitness walk started and ended at the Queensland International School, near Nungua on Saturday May 13, 2017.

According to Mrs. Funmi Osineye, Category Manager, Beverages, the event dubbed ‘MILO® Mum and Me’ is a special event to celebrate mothers through Sports and fun games.

She said mothers do all the household chores and look after their children, with often less time to exercise, so Milo thought it wise to select a few mothers and celebrate the Mother’s Day by keeping fit.

The Champions walk took participants through some streets of Sakumono and Lashibie where many people saw the Milo brand, and then they went through exercises, aerobics and dancing, football (penalties involving mothers against kids), Medical screening, Health talk, Fun games like Tug of Milo and Jumping Castles etc.

The children had the chance of wishing their mother well.

Later they had opportunities of media encounters with radio, television and social media.

All the mothers and children who took part were happy and wished such programmes could happen often.

Mrs. Osineye added that Milo believes that mothers needs to stay healthy, active and strong to continue nurturing our future champions.

She advised mothers to be house managers than mere house wives, by adding fitness to their already busy schedules.

According to Nii Ashong Katai PR Manager of EXP Momentum said the programme is part of awareness creation towards the Milo U13 Champions League which was launched by the Minister of Youth & Sports, supported by the Deputy Minister of Education and Milo Icon, Stephen “Tornado” Appiah, former skipper of the Black Stars.
