Executive member of the Ghana Football Association [GFA], Edward Osei Kwaku Palmer has stated categorically that Maxwell Konadu has not been appointed as the assistant coach of the Black Stars.

“Nobody has appointed Maxwell Konadu as the assistant coach of the Black Stars,” Palmer told Kwadwo Mensah Moshosho on the Asempa [94.7] FM Ultimate Morning show.

“Of course I have also heard the arguments making the rounds, but as a member of the Black Stars management committee, I can confirm that no such decision has been taken at the moment,” he added.

According to the bank roller of Ghana Premier League side – Tema Youth [Osei Kwaku Palmer], the decision to appoint two assistant coaches for the senior national team was not taking because they knew James Kwasi Appiah was going to emerge as the head coach.

“I’d also like to state that our decision to appoint two assistant coaches was long taking before we opened the nomination for people to apply for the Black Stars head coach job.”

“That decision was taken because of our experiences with Avram Grant and other expatriate coaches. It also makes financial sense to us because we are not going to appoint an assistant coach for the local Black Stars,” he said.
