Accra, April 24, GNA - The Ghana Football Association (GFA), has unveiled Nasco Electronics, as new sponsors of the Ghana Premier league for the next four (4) years.

The unveiling ceremony was held at the GFA secretariat on Monday afternoon with new Black Stars head coach, James Kwesi Appiah gracing the occasion.

The sponsorship package for this season is worth GH¢223,000, which covers rewards or prizes for 'Man of the Match' awards, coach and player of the month award for the remaining matches of the season.

These prizes include Flat screen television sets, Refrigerators, Smart phones, electronic irons and many others.

Mr. Ashford Tettey Oku, the Chairman of the Ghana Premier League Board (PLB) believes such sponsorship deals, were very significant for football development, as they reward individual and team excellence.

'Rewarding excellence is one of the many incentives that brings out the best of any human activities with football inclusive. It is therefore heartwarming to have Electroland Ghana on board to give prizes to our outstanding footballers.

'After two years of headline sponsorship drought, such timely interventions would not only encourage us, but strengthen our confidence that corporate Ghana would come to our aid sooner than later.

'On behalf of the Ghana Premier League Board, I am pleased to welcome on board Electroland, our latest development partner for having confidence that our league is worthy of investment and to commend them for their decision to support the Ghana Premier League.' He said.

According to the GFA, the best player and coach of the month award would be decided by a voting system.

The PLB announced that Nasco Electronics has also agreed to sponsor this year's PLB Awards at the end of the season.
