UMB has join hands with McDan Logistics to organize the 2017 McDan West African Tennis Open Championship which starts at the Accra Sports Stadium Tennis Courts from Monday April 24 to April 29.
Madam Yvonne Botchey, Marketing and Communications Director of umb who addressed the media on Friday at the umb head office at airport said they are proud to be associated with sports and promise to take tennis to a higher level of seeing a Ghanaian in the grand slams.
She hinted the umb strives on speed, passion, excellence, ethics, and diligence.
She applauded the initiative to unearth talents and urged Ghanaians who can play to come out.
Nat Attoh, the McDan Tennis Open Chief Organiser said umb is to become a big sponsor and prayed that they grow with the tournament.
The Joy Sports Presenter noted that the tournament has revived the sport which was going down and with the involvement of neighbours from other West African countries, he believed the standard will be high.
He stressed that the McDan Tennis Open offers an attractive platform and hoped other companies will come on to support the event.
Meanwhile, reports reaching Yours Truly states that some top tennis players who were not at last year’s event have registered, like Faustina Nyarko from Winneba.
