MYLIK Classic U-15 soccer tourney starts on May 5

Accra, April 29, GNA - A two-day second MYLIK Classic under-15 soccer tournament" for five "Garrison Educational Centre", Burma Camp, commences on Thursday, May 5, at the El-Wak Sports Stadium. The tournament is to provide an opportunity for young talented footballers, through top stage exposure, to showcase their skills. A statement issued by the organisers, MYLIK Sports Limited in Accra, signed by Kofi Bawuah, Chief Executive Officer said the idea was to promote football within the Ghana Education Service schools and to bring to the attention of major stakeholders the talent in "our various schools".

The sports company has been organising the popular MYLIK under-19 tournament, which over the years, has unearthed lots of talents including Isaac Borketey Bortey of Feyenoord.

The statement said the company intends to run the two competitions (ie u-15 and u-19) side-by-side with the chief aim of eliminating cheating from aged soccer tournaments.

It said, once the correct ages were used, "We will be showing that there is abundant talents in our schools and with systematic approach, we will help in the development of football in our country".
