Liberty Babies pip Telecom Ladies

Cape Coast, April 29, GNA - Cape Coast Telecom Ladies lost 2-4 to the Under 14 colts team of Akotokyen Liberty Babies in a friendly soccer matched played at the Robert Mensah Sports stadium on Thursday. Telecom Ladies who started the match on a fast note, twice came close to scoring but their forwards wasted the chances.

Liberty Babies gradually warmed themselves into the game and started taking control of affairs and rightly scored the opener a minute to the end of the first half through their midfielder, Thomas Ameni. On resumption of the second half, Liberty Babies outside right, Dominic Mensah made it 2-0 in the 50th minute but the Telecom Ladies quickly organised and pulled a goal back five minutes later through their midfielder Mary Baidoo.

Centre half, Joshua Eshun of the colts team raised the scores to 3-1 in the 60th minute.

Telecom Ladies from then on forced the tide in their favour in an effort to avoid disgrace from the clots boys and managed to reduce the tally to 3-2, through centre half, Francesca Awuku in the 65th minute. Their hopes of drawing level were however shattered when against the run of play, inside right Stephen Boateng, increased the tally to 4-2 in the 75th minute for Liberty Babies.
