Sensational Wahab Oluwasuen last Saturday night defended his national super featherweight belt at the Bukom Boxing Arena after he won a doubtful split decision against Abraham Osei Bonsu.

Oluwasuen who was making his second defense of his belt was given a hectic time by the Ashanti born Bukom based boxer who was very aggressive throughout the 12 rounds.

Oluwaseun scored two knockdowns in round five and seven, but despite that Bonsu had overwhelmingly dominated the champion as he was landing the perfect punches.

Two judges scored it 116-112, 115-114 for Oluwasuen, while one judge had it 114-115 for Bonsu.

However many experts who watched the fight closely thought it could have been scored 114-115 for Bonsu.

The Oluwasuen-Bonsu clash was the main event of the show put together by HeMann Promotions in collaboration with Azumah Nelson Boxing, the card was dubbed as “Azumah Nelson Fight Night.”

Former amateur star, Emmanuel Martey from Accra scored 120-110, 120-107 and 119-109 to win a one sided unanimous decision win over Stephen Abbey to win the national super middleweight belt.

In a super bantamweight contest billed for 8 rounds, Isaac Sackey won over Ezekiel Annan courtesy a unanimous decision.

In another international amateur middleweight contest billed for 3 rounds, Ghana’s Musah Rahman Lawson stopped Lebanon’s Elias Farah in the first round.
