UPAC Basketball fixed for April 7

Accra, April 2, GNA - The Quarter final stage of the Universities, Polytechnics And Colleges (UPAC) 2017 Basketball championship has been scheduled for April 7th and 8th, at the University of Ghana Campus.

The 4th edition of the competition featured 28 tertiary institutions in the preliminary stages with only eight progressing to the Quarter final stage.

Former Champions, University of Ghana are set to defend their title after a scintillating performance to qualify from Zone D, which featured Blue Crest University, Ho Technical University and University of Professional Studies Accra.

Meanwhile, two times UPAC champions, Accra Technical university would hope to regain their lost crown after a painful 44- 45 defeat to the University of Ghana in the 2016 grand finale.

The Accra Technical University qualified from Zone E, consisting of Central University, Pentecost University college and Wisconsin International University College.

The other Qualified institutions are the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Marshall University College, University of Cape Coast, All Nations University, and University for Developmental Studies.

The draw for the Quarter final stage would be held on Sunday, April 1, 2017 at the Court-side and will be live on KFS TV.
