Sakumono Tennis Club beat 4 Garrison 7-6

Tema, March 29, GNA - Sakumono Tennis Club defeated Four Garrison Officers Mess Tennis Club of Kumasi 7-6 to win, their Inter-Club Tennis Championship played at the Sakumono Tennis Courts at Sakumono, near Tema.

The game which was aimed at strengthening the already existing cordial relationship between the two clubs, saw Jeff Bagabarsseh winning the first game for Kumasi when he beat Pascal Ziayab 7-2.

The Kumasi team continued their winning ways when Francis Agbese beat Francis Gbolonyo 7-4 in a keenly contested game.

The tide however changed in favour of Sakumono as Samuel Ablorh beat Baba Zakaria 7-4 with Henry Akwaboah also beating Samuel Ampadu Kyei 7-4.

Tina Yamah of Sakumono also beat Brigette Sutinga 6-2 in the Ladies encounter which witnessed many actions.

Mr Joe Biney, Chairman of Sakumono Tennis Club called for the provision of facilities for the promotion and development of the sport.

This, he said would whip up the enthusiasm of the game for the youth to develop interest in the game.

Mr S.S. Abebe, President of 4 Garrison Officers Mess Tennis Club who had earlier on declared his club's intention to carry the day, commended the winners and expressed the hope that his team will reverse the trend in the second encounter in Kumasi.

The Kumasi club has won three games as against one by Sakumono since the inception of the competition three years ago. GNA
