Tout Puissant Mazembe attacker Solomon Asante has expressed his disappointment at his side's shock exit from the CAF Champions League but has turned his attention towards the CAF Confederations Cup.

The Congolese giants suffered a shock elimination in the last round of the qualifying stage of the continent's top club competition to Zimbabwean side CAPS United over the weekend.

The diminutive winger intimated his sadness about their unfortunate exit but says they should look forward to making the group stage of the second-tier competition.

'As a player, I have won both the champions league and the confederation cups to add to the club world cups,' Asante told Sportscrusader.

'I have won a number of trophies in my days with TP Mazembe but to miss out on the champions league still pains me the most.'

'As a group, we just have to move on and see it to that we at least make the group stages of the confederation cup.'

'The name of the game is courage and to succeed you must be courageous both on and off the pitch.'

The 26-year old and his compatriots inspired a 1-2 win over FC Lupopo to continue their surge at the summit of the log. Yaw Frimpong lasted the full 90, Solomon Asante replaced on 81 and Daniel Agyei coming on in the last 15 minutes.
