Tema, March 21, GNA - Mfantsipim Old Boys Association (MOBA) will meet their Achimota counterparts (AKORAS) for this year's Vice Admiral Matthew Quarshie's Golf Championship at the Tema Country Golf Course on Saturday, March 25.

Mike Aggrey, Captain of MOBA Golf Club, who disclosed this at Tema on Tuesday, said the one-day Match-Play competition was aimed at strengthening the already cordial relationship existing between the two associations.

He said MOBA hopes to introduce a triangular competition involving MOBA, Adisadel College Old Students and AKORAS and later introduce a quadrangular, which would see the inclusion of St. Augustine old students.

'The tournaments are aimed at fraternizing and also build the game of golf', He said.

Mr Aggrey, who is also the President of the Ghana Golf Association, urged other past students associations to form golf clubs and engage each other in competitions.

The MOBA team will be led by their Captain and would include Vice Admiral Matthew Quarshie, former Chief of Defence Staff, Frank Tackie and Ishmael Bannerman.

The Achimota team will include Joe Ohemeng, William Ofori, Joe Ampofo, Sowah Odoi and Mark Coffie.

A keen competition is anticipated since both teams had declared their intention to carry the trophy at stake.
