Asante Kotoko assistant Coach Godwin Ablordey fears for the future of Ghana football

Kumasi Asante Kotoko Assistant Coach Godwin Ablordey has blasted the level of officiating in their 1-0 defeat to arch Rivals Hearts of Oak in the premier league, calling it a disgrace to Ghana football.

Kotoko conceded a late second half penalty when referee Samuel Sukah pointed to the spot after Samuel Yeboah's shot was adjudged to have hit Kotoko defender Ahmed Adams on the hand.

Hearts' Vincent Atingah duly converted to compound Kotoko to their first defeat of the season, costing them a chance to go top of the league after Aduana were beaten by Ebusua Dwarfs.

Ablordey was left fuming after the final whittle and insists the decision making by the referee Samuel Sukah was poor.

'It is not a penalty, I'm very surprised. I had a chance of watching the replay and it wasn't a penalty. If this is how referees are going to handle the football in Ghana then Ghana football won't go far.

They are disgracing Ghana football. Am even surprised Joseph Lamptey was the fourth referee. This is a man who went to South Africa, a ball hits a player in the thigh and he awards a penalty. He was handed a three months ban.

I want everyone to go home and watch the replay again, if it's a penalty well accept it but if not they should judge it for themselves,' he added.

The defeat was the Porcupine Warriors' first at the Accra Sports Stadium against their rivals in eight years.
