Accra, April 20, GNA - The Tema Country Golf Course would host some of Ghana's most celebrated golfers on Saturday in the maiden GT Invitational Golf competition.

It's one-day 18-hole full handicap event for amateur golfers. A record number of 136 have so far entered for the event, which is the highest in recent times and is expected to increase by Friday. Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, Manager of the Tema Country Golf, told the GNA Sports the high entry could be due to the fact that the golfers would want to make history by being the first to win the competition.

Sensational Jasson William of the Achimota club, "wonder kid" Niccolo Catto and a few veterans including Phil McCaulley, Peter Amenyo, Dr Machi Mapuranga, Zimbabwean High Commissioner to Ghana, Alex Fiagomey and Mr Felix Owusu-Adjapong, President of the club and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs would be the men to watch.

The names to look out for in the female division include Susie Kumash, winner of this year's Bok Nam Kim Memorial Competition, Florence Etwi-Barimah, Georgina Puiac (68), Mrs Owusu-Adjapong, Grace Afriyie and Essel Koosom.
