Handball league enters third week

Accra, April 18, GNA - The National Handball league would this week enter the third week with another pack of exciting fixtures at all the centres.

The thriller would start at the Fire Service Academy where Asomdwe Stars would come up against the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF). GAF who won their last match against Old Hands would be seeking to consolidate their victory against their opponents who failed to win their last match against the Prisons Service.

After failing to make use of their home advantage against Fire Service, Kpando Young Hands will trek to the Kaneshie Sports Complex in Accra on Friday to face the Police who are going into the match with a sweet victory over HOSTAC in their last match.

Fire Service will storm the Prisons Complex on Saturday to battle Old Hands whilst Kpando Young Hands seek to make amends in their match against Future Stars at the Prison Complex on Saturday to complete the schedules for the week.

According to a release issued by Mr Saka Acquaye, Secretary General of the National Handball Association copied to the GNA Sports, Ghana National Fire Service last Saturday put up a splendid performance to beat Kpando Young Hands 28-19 at the Kpando sports stadium courts. In the female encounter that preceded the match, Fire used their rivch experience to win 9-1.

At the Prisons Complex in Accra, Prisons beat Asomdwe Club 31-17 while at the Burma Camp Court, Ghana Armed Forces also beat Old Hands 24-122 with Police Service also accounting of HOSTAG 28-16.
