Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association, Ibrahim Sannie Daara has disclosed both local and foreign coaches have applied for the Black Stars coaching job.

The Football Association and outgoing Black Stars coach Avram Grant will part ways mutually on February 28 after the Israeli failed to win the just ended Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

The Black Stars hopes of making it to four straight successive world cup appearance in Russia 2018 is in doubt after recording just a point after two matches played and with the qualifications matches yet to resume, the Black Stars are yet to appoint a permanent coach but former BBC worker has disclosed they have received application from both locals and foreigners.

“The Executive Committee will meet to decide on the appointment on the next Black Stars.” He told Asempa FM.

“We don’t care appointing a local or expatriate coach because when we are getting the results they will not ask if the coach is a local coach or an expatriate coach.

“Several coaches have applied for the Black Stars coaching job but we want to choose a competent coach because we have leant our lessons from the appointment of Avram Grant.”

Former Tottenham coach Harry Redknapp is the latest to be linked to the vacant role.
