George Lamptey, current 1st Vice President of the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF) believes he can contribute to the promotion and development of Ghana sports if he is elected as an executive member of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC).

Mr. Lamptey who has been involved in boxing for over two and half decades and became the GBF executive three years ago after many years heading the Greater Accra Amateur Boxing Association is contesting for the position of 3rd Vice President of the GOC at their 2017 executive elections scheduled for March 15 in Accra.

It has been widely reported in the Ghanaian sports media that over a dozen and half sports associations have all thrown full weight behind Ghana Weightlifting Federation President, Ben Nunoo-Mensah to unseat incumbent Francis Dodoo to the GOC big post but George Lamptey is ready to work with everybody to propel Ghana sports forward.

Mohammed Sahnoon, President of the Ghana Cycling federation is going for Secretary General, with Joseph Mingle of the Kick Boxing Association also going for Assistant Secretary General.

The GOC Elections is fixed for March 15, 2017
