Kofi Bruce, founder of the Inter Departments Football (INDADFA) League was buried on February 24 in Accra after funeral service at the Gethsemane Methodist Church at Mamprobi.

The late Kofi Bruce who played for the Black Stars and Accra Hearts of Oak in the 1970s was an astute administrator who also worked at the Cocoa Marketing Board (CMB). He passed on in December 2016 after a short illness.

His passion for football development saw him founding and organizing the “Workers Football Competition” at Korle Bu near Mamprobi, a suburb of Accra noted for producing quality football players after his retirement from active soccer.

Bruce who was a striker during his playing days contributed to the unearthing of young players for top premier division clubs and the national juvenile and youth teams.

The INDADFA league was participated by over 30 companies and enterprises including New Times, Graphic Communications, Social Security And National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), Internal Revenue service (IRS), Accra Metropolitan Authority (AMA), Department Of National Lotteries (DNL), Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), Customs, Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS), Cocoa Marketing Board (CMB), Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Ghana National Trading Company (GNTC) - State Traders, Tema Youth, Vibe FM, Mamprobi Rising Stars and others.

It would be recalled that the INDADFA Park was busy with football activity every day of the week in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

For over seven years, the INDADFA league which drew large spectators to the Mamprobi INDADFA park has ceased due to high officiating fees demanded by referees and the Hospital authorities demanding the land.

The Korle Bu Teaching Hospital authority who are owners of the park have also tried to stop sporting activities, but that is the same venue that has been the training grounds of all the best Accra West colts clubs, namely Ken Harrison Babies, Mighty Victory, Cedabs Babies, Mighty Cosmos and other third and second division sides. The venue also hosts sports programmes educational institutions.
