Port-Gentil, Gabon, Jan. 17, GNA - uniBank Ghana Limited, the official bank of the Black Stars, has taken steps to mobilise Ghanaians in Gabon, to support the team, as they commence campaign in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

The bank, which has for the past three and half years been the official bank of the team, has mobilized over 100 Ghanaians based in Gabon to support the Black Stars at the Port-Gentil Stadium, where the Black Stars, will take on "The Cranes" of Uganda on Tuesday afternoon.

The supporters, will be joined by some few organized supporters group from Ghana such as the Millennium Supporters Union and Die Hard Supporters Union.

The initiative, is aimed at ensuring that, the team gets the needed support to embark on their campaign to end over three decades of draught for AFCON trophy.

The Stars, last won the AFCON in 1982 and has since struggled to resume their dominance over the continent.

They have since 2008 been in the last four of the competition and played in two finals but failed on all occasions.

The Stars has since 2006 enjoyed massive and organised support from supporters group from Ghana, who follow the team to major competitions and qualifiers, but this changed after the 2014 World Cup saga, following recommendations by the Dzamefe Commission.
