Contrary to the perception that the 2005 League would commence on 3rd April, 2005 at all cost, the chairman of the Professional League Board (PLB), Welbeck Abrah-Appiah has told SPACE FM that the League would not take place as scheduled.

Speaking to Space Fm this morning, the PLB boss explained that the decision to reschedule the 2005 programme is to pave way for the long awaited champion of champions clash between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak to determine the 2004 league winner. He added that plans are underway to honour the traditional Gala to usher in the league season.

Accra Hearts of Oak pulled out of the champion of champions match against Kotoko originally scheduled for 13th March, 2005 following GHALCA's resolution to sever all ties with Kotoko after they had withdrawn from the GHALCA-Coca Cola Top 4 competition. GHALCA at a meeting yesterday reverse its decision after Kotoko had apologized to the welfare body.

PLB would meet all the clubs on Tuesday to decide the dates for the Gala and the league.
