Accra, Dec. 19, GNA - The December edition of the Achimota Golf Club Medal Open Championship tees-off at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday, December 24.
Mr George Amoah, Competition Secretary of the Achimota Golf Club, who disclosed this in Accra on Monday, said about 100 golfers drawn from Tema, Celebrity and Achimota golf clubs are expected to participate in the competition sponsored by Fan Milk Limited.
He said the competition would be played under the rules of the World's Golf governing body and the local rules of the Achimota Golf Club.
Mr Amoah said golfers expected to participate in the competition include Frank Adu Junior, Captain of the club, Nana Atta Nyamekye, President of the club, Nick Small Man, Yaw Assah-Sam, all of the Achimota Golf Club.
The Ladies segment would witness stiff competition between Ama Morgan, Beatrice Vetch-Bempong and Esther Antwi.
Five prizes will be given out in the Men's category while three will be awarded in the Ladies encounter.
There will be prizes for 'Longest Drive' as well as 'Closest to the Pin'.
