Ghana FA partners KMG Sports Management to organize symposium for local coaches

As part of plans to add to the development of the game in the country, the Ghana Football Association has partnered U. S. based KMG Sports Management to organize a three-day coaching symposium for local coaches.

Starting from Wednesday 23rd November to Friday 26th November, the symposium is aimed at providing coaches with technical know-how to develop the game properly.

The exercise will see existing coaches and upcoming ones learning modern trends in coaching with the Technical Director of the Belgium Football Federation offering lectures on the modern trend of the game.

George Lamptey's, former Asante Kotoko player and Executive Director of KMG sorts Management highlighted on the symposium for the development of the game locally.

"Ghana is a talented football country but you need the technical development to spice it. It is the coaches who will develop the talents you have, " George Lamptey said.

"I fought for this opportunity for Ghana because I was born here and played for Kotoko too. It is always good to do something good at home. I convinced the Belgium FA to do such a program in Ghana and I succeeded. The Ghana FA welcomed the idea after I discussed with them and I think that is going to help the country," he added.

Lamptey added that the event will see the Ghana FA and the Belgium FA partnering to ensure that six coaches are sent out every year to Belgium for coaches courses.

The entire exercise will end with a football gala among eight teams including Liberty Professionals, Great Olympics, Sporting Mirren and the national U20 side of Burkina Faso.

Others include Glory Lamp Academy, Madina Republicans, Danbort FC and AS young Stars of Ivory Coast.

Excellent and talented players will be given the opportunity to study and play football in the United States where the headquarters of KMG Sports Management is located.
