Cup of Nations Persistent injuries could rule skipper Asamoah Gyan out of AFCON 2017
NOV 21, 2016 LISTEN

Ghana and Al Ahli forward Asamoah Gyan is in real danger of missing out of the Africa Cup of Nations to be staged in Gabon next year after suffering what looked like a horrific injury over the weekend in the UAE league.

According to reports in the Arabian Peninsula where he plays his football the former Sunderland man could be out for five weeks throwing his participating in the Africa Cup of Nations into huge doubt.

Gyan has suffered setbacks in the last two years with some claiming his best days as a true world class finisher well and truly behind him.

Having missed action for the last two weeks Gyan returned to the pitch against Al Jazira but could only last for seventeen minutes.

This will be a huge blow to the Black Stars who have clearly struggled to score goals in the absence of the 30-year-old forward.
