Cape Coast Mar. 14 GNA - Players and officials of Cape Coast Mysterious Dwarfs were on Sunday given a rousing welcome by supporters of the Club for emerging champions in the just ended National Middle League that earned them promotion to the Premier Division.
The supporters went on a float through the principal streets of Cape Coast on the arrival of the team amidst dancing and singing of "Asafo" songs.
The float ended at the Robert Mensah Sports stadium where a reception was held for the players with the technical director of the club, Mr Ashfraf Ehtokhi and Alhaji Sulemana, Chairman of the task force of the supporters union addressing them.
Mr Ehtokhi an Egyptian citizen based in Cape Coast commended the players for their performance and stressed the need for them to work hard to ensure that the Club "survives" its promotion to the elite division.
He advised them to take their training seriously and heed to instructions from their technical men.
Mr Harry Hayford, a legal practitioner based in Cape Coast exhorted the supporters to contribute towards the up-keep of the club and asked the executives of the supporters union to sensitise the colleagues on the need to make significant contributions to sustain the club in the Premier division.
Mr Mathew Doe, Chairman of the Central Regional Football Association also congratulated the team and called on all stakeholders of the Club to evolve measures to ensure that it maintains its promotion in the Premier division.
Dwarfs finished first with 15 points in the Middle League to gain promotion to the Premier division.
