Zambia's Football Association (FAZ) faces a legal conflict due to contadictions on a propsed constitutional change in relation to the country's laws on homosexuality.

FIFA, the football's world governing body does not allow any form of discrimination and offenders could face suspension or expulsion from the game.

However, Zambia as a country forbids homosexuality, something that can end you in jail for up to 15 years.

A draft constitution from the Football Association of Zambia states:

'Discrimination of any kind against a country, private person or group of people on account of race, skin colour, ethnic, national or social origin, gender, language, religion, political opinion or any other opinion, wealth, birth or any other status, sexual orientation or any other reason is strictly prohibited and punishable by suspension or expulsion.'

Passing this constitutional changes would mean that the new rules contradicts the country's laws regarding homosexuality.

The FA is however not looking ahead to any issues with the contradiction on homosexuality with general secretary Ponga Liwewe saying:

'The draft constitution is in line with Fifa statutes and it is these that are up for discussion.

"It is the prerogative of Faz members to agree or disagree with the statutes and to make recommendations that will be incorporated in the final document."

On the constitutional review for Zambia's Football Association, a FIFA spokesperson told BBC Sport:

"Fifa is currently working with Faz on the revision of their statutes. We have no further comment at this stage."
