Ghana's Youth and Sports Minister, Nii Lantei Vanderpuije has denied claims he's working against the qualification of the Black Stars to the 2018 World Cup.

The tough-talking minister has been involved in a long-running battle with the Ghana FA over issues concerning the management of national teams since Nii Lantey Vanderpuije began his reign as head of the latter in February.

Essentially, the ministry has consistently voiced out frustrations at being left in the dark about several key decisions on the teams, while the FA insists the ministry's public outbursts have left much to be desired.

But the former broadcaster has water down on claims he's working against the team's quest to make a fourth successive appearance at the global showpiece.

'No one can question my love for the team. I love the team just like any Ghanaian," he told Nhyira FM

'I am a minister and it will be great to have it on my C.V that under my reign Ghana sealed a fourth consecutive world cup slot'.

'My duty is to scrutinize whatever budget we are presented with. I am accountable to institutions so I must seek explanation from the FA when deemed fit. The fact is that if other Ministers paid certain monies, it doesn't mean I have to do that.

In our previous world cup qualifications, we did certain things that have set a bad precedence for us and I am here to correct those things, '.

The four-time African champions will play Egypt in Alexandria on November 13.
