AOMCs tagged GOIL as best organize company at 2016 PETRUN

Accra, Sept. 1, GNA - The Association of Oil Marketing Companies (AOMCs) has adjudged the nation's foremost indigenous oil marketing company Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL), as the Best Organised Company at PETFUN 2016.

GOIL won the keenly contested men's Table Tennis event, as well as the PetFun 2016 Golden Boot which went to Joshua Duodu, but Grid Petroleum however put up a spirited performance to defeat GOIL for the Football trophy.

In all 30 Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) participated in the annual AOMCs Petroleum Fun Games (Petfun 2016) at the Burma Camp Recreational Centre, in Accra.

New entrant into the country's downstream petroleum sector, Puma Energy was adjudged the Overall Best Performing Company; Puma beat Excel Oil at the finals to win the Volleyball trophy. PUMA's Myles Bouvier-Baird defeated Kabore Oil's Djokpe Ebo Manasseh for the Lime and Spoon trophy.

The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) defeated Puma for the Tug of War trophy; Energy Ghana's Abraham Lartey beat Kabore Oil's Benjamin Tagoe for the Sack Race trophy; and Engen Ghana's Edem Pearce Kporh beat Oando Ghana's Innocent Agbodzi for the Ludo trophy.

Albert Osahene of Glory Oil defeated Abu Pepe of Grid Petroleum for the Playing cards trophy; Benjamin Anaman of Frims Oil also beat Peter Amedormey of Top Oil for the Draft trophy; whilst Atsu Fidel Amenyo won the Chewing of Apple on the run trophy.

Kabore Oil was adjudged the Best Coordinator and First Company to arrive at the venue of the competition.

Mr Kwaku Agyemang-Duah, AOMC Industrial Coordinator told the Ghana News Agency after the event that PETFUN was a platform for the stakeholders to develop networks, strengthen existing industrial relations and create an environment for healthy lifestyle.

He commended all the OMCs who participated in the PetFun 2016.
