Eastern Region Division Three qualifying matches on going

Koforidua, Jan. 21, GNA - Four Division Three clubs in the Eastern Region on Thursday qualified to play the 2005 Eastern Regional Division Two Soccer League after emerging champions of their groups at the end of the first batch of their middle league matches in Koforidua. The clubs include Somanya Islamic Stars who topped group one with four points, Kpong Adede Stars which topped group two with six points, Larteh Mountain Rangers which led group three with six points and Akwatia Frankfurt Football Club which topped group four with six points. In all 12 clubs, divided into four groups of three clubs each, took part during this first part of the middle league, which ended on Thursday.

The second batch of eight clubs divided into two groups of four clubs each is expected to kick-off at the Koforidua Sports Stadium on Saturday, January 22.

The winners of the two groups are expected to join the four champions already declared to qualify for this year's Regional Second Division League.

The clubs in the second batch included Akyem Hemang Ablaze Football Club, Suhum Rocky Stars, Gyaponmaa Golden Pods, Kade Young Olympiakos, Nkawkaw Peace Football Club and Atiwa Wonders. Other clubs in the batch included Asamankese Mighty Eleven and Saamang Golden Stars.
