The grand finale of TV3’s Ghana’s strongest season “5” went agog as fans crave for their favourite contestants in the final round of the competition held at Oceanic Beach Resort, Korle Gonno.

Courage Adukpo, age 42, from Accra was adjudged winner of the 5th edition of TV3’s Ghana’s strongest with a cash prize of GHc13,000, a certificate of participation and a gold medal together with a trophy.

Courage pulled a total mark of 94 to beat his closed contestant Damian Smith by a small margin of 2 marks.

The 32 year-old-Accra based Damian Smith who was also declared ‘the most disciplined’ contestant came second with a total mark of 92 taking home a cash prize of GHc7000, a certificate of participation and other items.

Osmanu Mumuni, 28, popularly known as John Sena from Nima with a huge support based lost the bid the third time with a total record of 87 beating Ahmed Boakye for the third position.

Osmanu who was declared ‘the mental strongest’ of the season took home a cash prize of GHc6000, a certificate of participation and other items whiles Ahmed Boakye scored fourth with a total mark of 81.

Ahmed Boakye, 25, from Kumasi was declared the ‘discovery of the season’ and took home GHc5000, a certificate of participation and other items.

In an exclusive interview with George Fausta Baffoe, the Commissioner of TV3’s Ghana's strongest season “5”said the endurance bid of the contestants for this year’s competition has been better, with a lot more improvement in speed and techniques as compared to last year’s performance.

Dan Budu, the second Commissioner and a fitness consultant said quiet apart from the protracted protest from some of the die-hard fans, he described the event as very successful, well organized and very disciplined.

He observed that those who were lacking some discipline and for that could not keep up with the routine failed to reach the top.

Dan Budu, in his final remarks described this year’s Ghana’s strongest as “super” because all the weights that were used in last year’s tournament have been increased.
