Black Wonders returns home tomorrow

Accra, Jan 18, GNA - The national deaf soccer team, the Black Wonders are scheduled to return home on Wednesday, January 19, after participating in the Deaflympic Games in Melbeourne, Australia.

The Black Wonders could not make much impact at the tournament following their late arrival, which led to their early exit from the soccer category.

A statement signed on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports by Mr C.S. Sackey on behalf of the Minister copied to the GNA Sports said Wonders however managed to win two matches in the competition, though it was not enough to advance them to the next stage.

The Black Wonders defeated their counterparts from Saudi Arabia 3-1 and drubbed the host nation, Australia 4-0.
