Ghana will make a 21 st appearance at the Africa Cup of Nations at next year's finals in Gabon.
The Black Stars beat Mauritius 2-0 in Port Louis on Sunday in the penultimate Group H qualifier to open a seven-point lead.
After squandering a lot of scoring opportunities in the first half, Ghana clicked into gear to score two goals in a spate of four minutes.
Stand-in captain Andre Ayew rifled in the opener on 71 minutes and Christian Atsu sublimely connected home the second four minutes later
The West African heavyweights will be duly represented at the continental showpiece in Gabon where they are expected to challenge for the title.
Ghana came close to winning the 2015 finals Equatorial Guinea but lost out on penalties to Ivory Coast.
