Koforidua to observe peace games on May 25

Koforidua (E/R), May 20, GNA - Dream Team Media Consult, an event organization group would organize a peace game on May 25 at the Koforidua Galloway Park.
The games, dubbed ''Kofcity Peace Games'' is aimed at promoting peace before, during and after the November 7 polls in the New Juaben Municipality.
Participants include the Ghana Police Service, Immigration Service, Fire Service, Prisons, the Media, Electoral Commission, Political parties and the general public.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Koforidua, Mr Michael Akrofi, a journalist and Programmes Director for Dream Team Media Consult said, "as stakeholders in the society, it is our responsibility to ensure peace in the Municipality."
He said, his organization was moved by the incidents recorded in the just ended limited registration exercise, describing it unfortunate and that it must not be repeated again.
Mr Akrofi said, 'as a country we must not sit down for elections to divide us, we are one people with a common goal and destiny', adding that, "there can never be development without peace."
He urged all and sundry to ensure peace during this electioneering year.
The winners of the peace game will take home a trophy as well as other prizes, whiles, the second and third placed teams will also be rewarded.
The games will be graced by the Eastern Regional Minister, the Queen Mother of New Juaben Traditional Area, Eastern Regional Chief Imam, Heads of all the security agencies, the New Juaben Municipal Chief Executive, Members of Parliament of New Juaben North and South and some aspiring MPs.
