New Edubiase (Ash), Nov. 30, GNA - A 38-year-old woman who signed a bond last year not to steal again broke her bond and stole eight fowls at Ataasi-Nkwanta in the Adansi South district.

Afua Appiah, whose plea was not taken when the court discovered that she had signed a bond to be of good behaviour, was sentenced to four years in jail in hard labour by the New Edubiase Magistrate Court. Police Chief Inspector Stanley Amewoyi told the Court presided over by Mr Osei Kwame that a night watchman saw the accused from Adansi-Apagya around 0130 hours carrying fowls.

He said when the watchman questioned the accused where she was going at that time of the morning with the fowls, Afua could not give any tangible explanation so she took her to the Atobiase police station. Chief Inspector Amewoyi said following interrogation, the accused admitted stealing the fowls.

The magistrate ordered that the fowls should be given back to their owners who were in court.
