Dwarfs pip local rivals Vipers


Cape Coast, Nov.25, GNA - Ebusua Dwarfs beat their local rivals, Cape Coast Venomous Vipers 1-0 in their Division One League match at the Cape Coast Sports stadium on Wednesday.

Vipers who started the match on a fast note kept the spectators yelling with joy at the display of their superb ball control and short passes as on two occasions they came close to scoring but their attackers squandered the chances.

Dwarfs gradually warmed their way into the game and forced the tide in their favour and following series of attacks in their opponents vital area, midfielder, Musah Labaran scored the opener and the match winner in the 16th minute.

It was the effort of outside right, John Osam who after collecting a pass from the right flank sent in a diagonal pass to Labaran to score. In the 25th minute, disaster struck Vipers when their top striker, Peter Edu was red carded for kicking an opponent.

Despite their numerical disadvantage, Vipers however continued to dictate the pace of the game and their best chance to fetch the equaliser came in the 75th minute when outside left, Frank Mensah with only the goalkeeper to score fumbled and missed the chance. 25 Nov. 04
