Kumasi, Jan. 29, GNA - The Management of Asante Kotoko has expressed optimism about the team's chances in this year's premier league, which commences on Saturday, February 20.

Mr. Samuel Opoku-Nti, General-Manager of the Club, said they have total confidence in the players - the skill, depth the quality of their game.

'Kotoko is stronger now, we have in our camp very experienced players, as well as young, talented and motivated up-coming ones to champion our cause', he told the GNA Sports in Kumasi

He called on its teeming supporters to provide rock-solid backing to the team.

The Porcupine Warriors, obviously the finest side in Ghana's football, had won the league title, 23 times and ended last year's league at the second spot.

They lost the league to regional rivals, Ashgold, to end the season without a trophy.

Mr. Opoku-Nti said their success in the 'G-6' competition, SWAG Cup and Ghana Challenge Cup, had boosted the morale in camp.

'Our players are in the best of shape to face any opposition', he said.

The General-Manager, a Kotoko legend, advised the playing body to remain focused on the task ahead.

He said given the strict training regimen the players were undergoing, he had no doubt that Kotoko would win the league.
